X Launches Video Tab, Meta Ditches Fact-Checking, and Threads Tests Ads

  • Taking a page from X's book, Meta is getting rid of fact-checking and switching to Community Notes
  • Instagram officially expanded the length of Reels to three minutes, though the platform still prefers short-form, punchy content
  • Instagram updated its profile grid with vertically-aligned thumbnails, though they continue to A/B test; rumors suggest they may change where Highlights go and give users the ability to switch back to a 1:1 grid
  • Threads has reached 320M monthly users and is beginning to test ads
  • YouTube reached 1B monthly podcast listeners
